Van Cleef & Arpels - Librairie l'Escarboucle
L'Escarboucle is the first bookshop dedicated to the jewelry arts in Paris. Adjacent to L’ÉCOLE School of Jewelry Arts, the shop is a jewel box where you can discover a selection imagined for everyone, amateurs and connoisseurs.
To accompany this dive into beauty and knowledge, the space has been designed as an invitation to travel and discovery. The woodwork evokes the world of a submarine, piloted by a team of booksellers with a passion for art writings.
Immersion is total thanks to vertical bookcases running along the walls and a ceiling that rises like a wave. Openings in the walls evoke portholes or air bubbles, enhanced by an aquatic shimmering light.
The display tables are like glittering iceberg islands, revealing treasures emerging from the depths. Their color is a tribute to that of the garnet-red carbuncle stone (or escarboucle in French).
Here and there, a few nooks and crannies offer reading spaces. A mysterious navigation device reveals exhibition posters, completing this expedition into the world of jewelry.
