Conversation(s) with Afra and Tobia Scarpa

On the occasion of Designer's Days 2011, Molteni invited Constance Guisset to take over the Molteni & C Dada Flagship Store. For Giulia Molteni, the choice came naturally: "Constance Guisset's work is elegant and poetic. I felt it could perfectly complement the interior of the rue des Saints-Pères store."

Struck by the quality of the space, the designer discovered that it had been designed in 1979 by Afra and Tobia Scarpa. From that moment, Constance Guisset envisioned staging a dialogue with the Scarpas, who were among the brand's earliest collaborators and whose approach and signature deeply influenced the designs currently produced by Molteni.

With Molteni's enthusiastic support, Constance Guisset set about uncovering the floor in the entrance and emptying the space to reveal the original setting, stripping it bare, like a ballroom, to let pairs of furniture dance within it, brought to life under the light, animated canopies she designed for the occasion.
